In addition to my sound design work for Walk All Over, I composed a 5-piece score meant to accompany specific scenes in the show! I also had the opportunity to music direct student instrumentalists who volunteered to perform these pieces during the show.
An experimental duet between electric guitar and mixed percussion ensemble. Performed with the help of Sean from the grammy-winning ensemble Third Coast Percussion. This piece is meant to portray a relationship between two people who fail to properly communicate with each other. The interactions between the percussionist and guitarist are written to be sparse and short. Even when both instruments play at the same time, they are often counting differently or attempting to establish different moods. While rare moments are created when both parts agree and mesh well with each other, their relationship is overall one of dissonance and of not being able to find where they fit, despite efforts made from both sides to do so.
A piece I composed for a student film as a part of an interdisciplinary collaborative effort between Music and Film professors. Performed by award-winning string quartet ETHEL.
